## Affinity Review 2026: A CRM Built for Investors, Not Founders

We read the pricing page, aggregated four review platforms and weighed the answer against what an early founder actually needs.

## Verdict

**Score: 7.2/10**

Affinity is a relationship CRM for venture capital and private equity firms, and in this review it earns 7.2/10. Automatic email capture and warm-intro scoring work as advertised, with 4.4/5 on G2 across 73 reviews. At $2,000 per user per year with no self-serve plan, it is the wrong purchase for a founder testing an idea.

**Quick scores:**

- Relationship intelligence: 8.5/10
- Automation: 8/10
- Ease of use: 8/10
- Customization: 6/10
- Pricing and value: 5/10
- Fit for early founders: 2/10

**Pros:**

- Automatic email and calendar capture removes manual logging
- Relationship strength scores and warm-intro paths are a clear, focused idea
- 4.4/5 on G2 (73 reviews) and 9.2/10 on TrustRadius (53 reviews)

**Cons:**

- Every plan is sales-led, with no public checkout or free trial on the pricing page
- The $2,000 entry price per user is over five times Attio's Plus plan
- Reviewers repeatedly mention limited customization and slowness on large datasets

> **Disclosure** — Disclosure: Beaseness does not currently hold an affiliate agreement with Affinity, and the button above sends you to the official website. We did not pay for a seat, because Affinity sells through demos only. Everything below comes from public pages and review platforms read on 27 October 2026, and it is labelled as such. If an affiliate arrangement is added later, this notice will be updated before any tracked link goes live.

## How this review was built

- **Plan paid:** None. Affinity sells only through a sales demo, so no paid seat was used
- **Version tested:** Public product and pricing pages, read 27 October 2026
- **Test period:** 2026-10-27 → 2026-10-27

**Test categories:** Pricing structure, Customer reviews, Relationship scoring claims, Founder fit, Alternatives cost

This is a desk review, not a hands-on test. We could not open an account: every plan on the pricing page leads to a sales conversation. So we read the official pricing and product pages on 27 October 2026, pulled the ratings and review counts from G2, TrustRadius, Capterra and Trustpilot the same day, and read the visible excerpts of several r/venturecapital threads. Prices, ratings and counts below are copied from those pages. Ratios are our own arithmetic and are marked as computed. Claims about speed and accuracy are what reviewers report, not something we measured.

## Should you buy this?

**YES if you...**

- Venture or private equity firms with several partners who share a deal pipeline
- Investor relations teams that need the same relationship depth on LPs as deal teams have on targets
- Firms that want email and calendar history captured automatically, firm-wide

**NO if you...**

- Solo founders validating an idea, who have no firm-wide network to map
- Teams that need a CRM under $100 per user per month
- Anyone who wants to test the product alone before talking to a salesperson
- Founders building an investor list for a first raise, where a spreadsheet or a lighter CRM is enough

## What Affinity costs per user

### Essential — $2,000/user/year

For firms building their network and deal pipeline

- Automatic activity capture across email and calendar
- Relationship scoring and warm paths
- Deal pipeline tracking
- Affinity Labs early access

### Scale — $2,300/user/year

Adds the AI layer

- Everything in Essential
- Notetaker and AI Chat
- Ascend agents
- Hosted MCP server
- 100k API calls per month

### Advanced — $2,700/user/year *(Most popular)*

Adds enrichment and automation

- Everything in Scale

### Enterprise — Custom

Multi-fund firms with compliance needs

- Everything in Advanced

**ROI breakdown:** Computed: five seats on Essential cost $10,000 a year, and five seats on Advanced cost $13,500. Five seats on Attio Pro at $69 per user per month, billed annually, cost about $4,140.

**Hidden costs & gotchas:**

- Standard onboarding is included, but extra data migration or custom fields are scoped and priced separately
- PitchBook enrichment requires your own PitchBook subscription
- Collaborator seats and headless sync-only seats are add-ons
- API access is capped at 100k calls a month below Enterprise, and MCP queries count against it

## Warm paths: the idea Affinity is built on

Affinity's own relationship intelligence page shows a list of top founders next to a card for one person, with the colleagues who know them ranked by relationship strength. The vendor says the score is built from observable behaviour: how often two people email, how recently, whether replies come back and whether meetings sit on both calendars. The same page shows an example score of 88 out of 100.

- Score based on interaction frequency and recency
- Colleagues ranked by who is best placed to introduce you

## The numbers we could verify

- **Entry price (Essential):** 2,000 USD per user per year *(affinity.co pricing page, 27 Oct 2026)*

- **G2 rating:** 4.4 /5 from 73 reviews *(g2.com, 27 Oct 2026)*
- **TrustRadius score:** 9.2 /10 from 53 reviews *(trustradius.com, 27 Oct 2026)*
- **Capterra rating:** 4.7 /5 from 3 reviews *(Sample too small to rely on)*
- **API allowance below Enterprise:** 100,000 calls per month *(Scale and Advanced; MCP queries count too)*
- **Entry price vs Attio Plus:** 5.7 times more per user per year *(Computed: $2,000 against $348 ($29 x 12), Attio price from a third-party 2026 comparison)*

> Open the pricing page as a buyer and try to start a plan alone.

All four tiers show a Contact sales button. The page lists three prices and a custom Enterprise tier, but there is no checkout and no free trial.

> Check what the AI layer costs and where it starts.

The agents page presents Ascend as agents for sourcing, deal qualification, fundraising and exit. Per the pricing page, Ascend, Notetaker, AI Chat and the MCP server begin at the $2,300 Scale tier.

## Pros and cons

### Pros

- **Capture without manual logging** — Email and calendar activity feed the system automatically, which reviewers on G2 single out.
- **A focused idea, executed for one audience** — Relationship scores, warm paths and pipeline lists all serve the same investor workflow.
- **Admin control over what gets synced** — Sync policies can be set per team, and users can manage what is shared from their own inbox.
- **Strong scores where there is volume** — 4.4/5 on G2 and 9.2/10 on TrustRadius, with 73 and 53 reviews.

### Cons

- **No self-serve entry point** — Every tier says Contact sales. You cannot test alone first.
- **Price is high for small teams** — A five-seat team pays $10,000 to $13,500 a year before add-ons.
- **Customization and speed complaints** — Reviewers mention limited customization, a dated interface and choppy behaviour on large datasets.
- **AI features sit behind higher tiers** — Notetaker, AI Chat, Ascend and MCP all start at Scale.

## Final verdict

**Score: 7.2/10**

Affinity does one job well: it turns a firm's email and calendar history into a map of who knows whom, then ties that map to a deal pipeline. The ratings from users on G2 and TrustRadius suggest it delivers on that promise. What the score cannot measure is whether it fits you. If you run a fund, it deserves a demo and a reference call with a firm your size. If you are a founder with a hypothesis to test, it solves a problem you do not have yet, at a price built for firms. Start with a spreadsheet and a cheaper CRM, then ask what you are really missing after your first fifty conversations with investors or customers. The question to carry out of this review: do you have a network to map, or a hypothesis to test?

**Dimensional scoring:**

- **Relationship intelligence:** 8.5/10 — The core product, clearly explained
- **Automation:** 8/10 — Capture runs on its own
- **Ease of use:** 8/10 — Praised on G2
- **Customization:** 6/10 — Recurring complaint
- **Pricing and value:** 5/10 — Sales-led, from $2,000 per user
- **Fit for early founders:** 2/10 — Built for firms

## Common questions

### Is this the Affinity from Serif, the design software?

No. This review covers Affinity at affinity.co, the CRM for private capital. Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are separate design apps from Serif, and they are not covered here.

### How much does Affinity CRM cost?

Essential is $2,000 per user per year, Scale is $2,300 and Advanced is $2,700. Enterprise is custom. All are billed annually and sold through the sales team.

### Does Affinity have a free trial?

Not on the public pricing page. Every plan points to Contact sales or a demo request.

### Is Affinity worth it for a startup founder?

Usually not. It maps a firm's shared network and deal flow, and a founder with no firm network gets little from that. A spreadsheet or a lighter CRM is a cheaper first step.

### What are the main Affinity alternatives?

Attio, 4Degrees and DealCloud come up most often. Attio is the cheapest and most flexible, 4Degrees is closest in purpose, and DealCloud targets large firms with complex needs.

### How long does Affinity take to set up?

The vendor says most firms are fully live within 60 days, with the network mapped in the first 24 hours. This is a vendor claim that we did not verify.

### What do Reddit users say about Affinity?

In r/venturecapital threads, opinions split. Some call it slow and expensive, others call it relatively cheap for the functionality a small firm needs. Many say it is strongest when relationship intelligence is central to the workflow.
